Hesse Film GmbH, based in Zurich, was founded in June 2015 by Simon Hesse. Previously he was owner and producer at HesseGreutert Film AG in Zurich (2004 to 2015). Under this label he has produced 20 feature films and documentaries for cinema and television.

Simon Hesse has been producing feature films since 1999. From 2004 to 2015 he was owner and producer of HesseGreutert Film AG. Since 2012 (until 2019) he has been Co-President of the Swiss producer association IG Independent Swiss Film Producers. Since 2015 he is also Co-President of Zürich für den Film (Zurich Film Industry Association) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Zurich Film Foundation.
