Police investigator Bettina Käser investigates Gottfried Rösli's murder in Lagenthal. His daughter Käthi Güdel found the old farmer dead on the Lochmatt farm, shot with a gun. Everything indicates that Käthis husband Sämi has lost his nerve: He was in a bad fight with his

father-in-law. But Bettina Käser doubts Sämi's guilt. Together with her assistant Robert Egger from Zurich, she sets off in search of the perpetrator. But the revelation of the truth also holds a surprise in store for Bettina Käser herself.
